So, has anyone seen Bob Dylan on tour this fall? I just saw him play Detroit a couple of weeks ago. Fantastic! Pulled out quite a few surprises!
What does anyone else have to say about this? Has anyone else seen him in concert this year?

Thu, November 16, 2006 - 10:57 AMI'm curious to...and how were the Rancatours? I know Jack White probably killed Detroit! But what about Bob? Anyone? -

Re: '06 Tour
Fri, November 17, 2006 - 8:50 AMActually the show I saw had The Foo Fighters opening, the Raconteurs won't open until the East Coast leg. But the Foos were quite good and very entertaining. They had an expanded lineup. It was interesting how they reconstituted their songs for an acoustic setting.
Dylan, of course, was fantastic! He played an electric set and he's got quite a jumpin' band with him! The funniest things: Bob played a small electronic keyboard the whole show, never picked up a guitar, played some harmonica; he played a lot of new stuff, did his typical this-song-is-not-the-same-as-last-time fun stuff, but what was unusual was when he played his classics (i.e. "Like a Rolling Stone", "Positively 4th St.", "Tangled Up In Blue"), they played them the closest to the original arrangements than I've ever heard! -

Re: '06 Tour
Fri, November 17, 2006 - 10:26 AMVery nice. Man, I wish I could afford this tour...
So, I'll try not to look too deeply into him playing the classics in a standard form, but suddenly I wonder. It's VERY unlike him. Is Bob trying to say something? I've seen him around five times, and I dont think I've ever not heard a tinkered Tangled up in Blue...
